§ 01 — Questions

Straight answers, before you ask.

Sixteen of the questions owners ask us most, grouped by where you are. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

I.

Getting started

How do I get started?

Choose what your business needs online, which takes about two minutes, then complete a short form about your business. We confirm the total with you before anything is charged.

Can I talk to someone first?

Yes. Book a 30-minute video call, or send us a message and we will reply within one working day.

Do you work with businesses outside Kent?

Yes. Our office is in Margate and we work with business owners across the UK, by video, phone and email.

II.

Fees

How much will it cost?

Starter begins at £139 a month and Growth at £249 a month, both plus VAT. Payroll, extra Self Assessments and a registered office are optional extras. Bespoke fees are agreed after a review.

Can I change what I have later?

Yes. Email us or use your client login, and the change applies from your next invoice.

Will my price go up next year?

Your price stays the same from one accounting year to the next. Published prices are reviewed once a year, and you hear from us by email at least 30 days before any change.

I am joining part-way through my accounting year. Is this year covered?

Yes. A one-off catch-up fee covers the months already passed, at your monthly rate, confirmed before you pay. The whole year’s accounts and tax return are then included.

III.

Software

Which accounting software is included?

Pandle cloud accounting is included for every client, with bank feeds that import your transactions automatically.

Can I keep my current software?

Yes. We work in Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage and other packages if you already use them.

IV.

Switching accountant

Can I switch accountant part-way through the year?

Yes. You do not need to wait for your year end. We contact your current accountant for professional clearance and your records, register as your agent with HMRC, and take it from there.

What do I need to do?

Approve us as your agent, forward any HMRC letters that arrive in the meantime, and complete one short onboarding form.

Is there a bad time to switch?

Only if a return is due very soon. Tell us and we will plan the move around that deadline.

V.

The work

When are my company’s accounts due?

Usually nine months after your company’s financial year end. We track the date and ask for what we need well before it.

When is corporation tax due?

For most small companies, nine months and one day after the end of the accounting period. The return itself is due 12 months after the period ends.

Who actually does the work?

We are your single point of contact and remain responsible for everything. Some bookkeeping and preparation may be carried out by selected specialist providers under our supervision and confidentiality agreements.

Do you give investment or pensions advice?

No. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Where you need regulated advice, we point you to a specialist.
